Total 170 lines and cultivars including PI lines and Korean local caltivars of pepper were tested for resistance to Phytophthora capsici by inoculation with a zoosporangial suspension at seedling stage. Two lines of Capsicum chinense, PI 224445 and PI 281423, in addition to previously reported resistant PI 123469, PI 201232, PI201234, `P51´, and `Fyuco´ were resistant to Phytophthora capsici.
